Tar spots on Bottom of Car Doors

Can anyone offer some easy solutions for removing the black tar spots you get on the bottom of car doors. I have a pale blue car and these spots look horrible. I use my nails and T-Cut but it's really hard work and I wondered if there was an easier way of removing them. Would a water pressure cleaner do the job?

Hi FoxLee2 yes there is a product called INTENSIVE TAR REMOVER made by Auto-Glym and it is very good i have used it on a white car with very successful results.

yep, as Docspok
easy answer, neat petrol or nail varnish remover (acetone) but make sure its washed and waxed afterwards...guaranteed to work

Thanks everyone for your answers.Re the Intensive Tar Remover product - is it readily available in car accessory shops? It sounds just what I'm looking for. If not, I'll pinch some of the petrol OH has in a can for the lawnmower!!

WD40 will take it straight off too

Yes FoxLee2 INTENSIVE TAR REMOVER can be bought from any good car shop i.e. Halfords, Motorworld, etc.

I've tried the petrol tip which was quite hard work but very successful - I did the petrol and washing off, my husband put on wax and buffed it up. I've also been out to Halfords and bought some Intensive Tar Remover which seems a bit easier to use and I'll finish off the job before I next clean the car.
