Keyboard problem?

Hi.the keyboard on my pc has developed an irritating problem, when I'm typing an email on it ,It will leave a letter out every now and then even though I am pushing the key hard enough , and I have to go back and re type it in.I connected up my old keyboard up only to find that exactly the same thing happened when I used it !! Is it a fault on the settings of my pc or what..Thanks
