Flossing...how often and when?

Flossing your teeth....tooth paste, antiseptic mouth wash and tooth brush....how often is the norm for flossing...when is it most effective...

should one floss, brush and gargle

or brush, floss gargle

 or brush gargle floss....?

Personnally, I floss, then brush, then use mouthwash.  I brush twice a day, but only floss once per day, ditto for mouthwash.

I brush my teeth, THEN floss, then rinse and lastly use mouth wash...

I only floss once (at night) and use mouthwash (again at night) too. Brush teeth twice a day-obviously!

I personally don't really know the "correct" procedure either though, so if anyone has any ideas...

A dental hygeinist once told me that it doesn't matter when you floss but ideally after meals. She gave me these tiny little brushes to use between my teeth before brushing normally and she told me NOT to use mouthwash as it wasn't any good for your teeth.

My answer is a combination of elena's and Gevs.

My dentist advised me to clean teeth first, then floss, morning and night - and not to overdo the mouthwash.

 It seems to have worked as the fillings are  few and the hygienist has hardly any work to do.

I never floss, and everytime i go to the dentist they always tell me how clean my teeth are and so on... Im always rinsing my mouth out with water tho, could that have anything to do with it???

We're always told our teeth are nice & clean, but our dentist always suggests flossing before brushing, especially inbetween the back teeth, to remove any debris that may be trapped & can cause decay.
