Oops, sorry. Meant to ask if someone could help clarify the differences between them. If I wanted a plan to cover funeral expenses and give some cash to my partner when I 'depart', which is best? I've looked on financial websites etc but still a bit confused..
There is no such thing as Life Insurance, although increasingly suppliers/media have been using that term. As a general principle insurance is against something that may happen, Assurance is against something that will happen. Funeral cover is a form of life assurance.
You need Life ASSURANCE. But don't just buy it from the web, get an IFA to arrange it for you, it needs to be "whole of life" AND ideally placed in trust for it to operate exactly as you wish.
