urgent advice needed please - run flat tyres

I recently had to have two tyres replaced at a tyre shop..

the car is a lease car and due to go back in 6 months time.

having recently paid £300 for two new front tyres.. I was reluctant to waste any of more company's money on an expensive brand - so asked if they could fit any cheaper tyres.

the tyres on the car are run flats - and there is no spare wheel in the car but a re-inflation kit is provided.

would the garage replace a run flat tyre with a run flat tyre... albeit another brand - or would they have just used a standard tyre.

The tyres say on the side they are 'tubeless' and they were £97 each. The run flat tyres previously purchased were £150 each.

At no point did I tell them to NOT fit run flat tyres.. I simply asked if there was a cheaper alternative brand to the Continentals they were quoting £180 each for.

I am going to call them - but wanted your opinions - as they havent been much help with other fleet cars and I dont want to get fobbed off by them

Is your car a company car? If so then usually tyres are paid for by whatever company owns the vehicle....Up to four tyres should be able to be replaced with no expense to yourself?

I would think the price comes out roughly the same on both options £360 for run flat tyres. Your option for standard tyres should also include a spare wheel so 3 x £97 plus the cost of an extra wheel for the car

The car is a company car yes - but no maintenance contract - so we pay for tyres and servicing.

I'm just worried they may have fitted it with standard tyres and not run flats - and that we may be penalised when the car goes back as it would have the wrong tyres on it

There is no room for a spare whell - hence the fact it has run flats and an inflation kit

it will say on the sidewalll marking if they are runflat or not, some common markings are

HRS,
MOExtended,
RunFlat,
SSR
Bridgestone RFT (Run Flat Tire),
Dunlop DSST (Dunlop Self-Supporting Technology) and ROF (Run On Flat),
Firestone RFT (Run Flat Tire),
Goodyear EMT (Extended Mobility Technology) and ROF (Run On Flat),
Kumho XRP,
Michelin ZP (Zero Pressure),
Pirelli RFT (Run Flat Technology)
Yokohama Run Flat and ZPS (Zero Pressure System).

If you can't see any of the above make a note of all information you can find on the tyre and either google it or post the info here.
