From what I have seen, you can only buy domain names for fixed periods of e.g. 1 and 2 years. So, essentially, it is more like renting a domain name. If your intent is to buy a domain name to sell on at a profit (so it is bought as an investment), how can you sell it on if you are in effect only renting it? Would love to hear from someone in the know. Is there any real way of buying domain names for investment purposes?
