If you purchase a Freeview Plus Digital Box and tune it in to all the Freeview Channels you will be able to record anything you want onto its Hard Drive.
I'm pretty sure the recorder must also have freeview.

There are some very cheap freeview boxes you can hook-up to the recorder if need be;; and most supermarkets have them

thanks to you both for your very promt answer
think you mean the tv has built in freeview not that you have a recorder as the above answers presume
i would have though a scart "out" would plug into a vhs recorder and dvd hard recorder, my recorder does not have freeview built in as its around 4 years old but i have a separate freeview box for this
Yes, you can but it's fiddly.
You need to have the tv switched on and stay on the channel you want to record. If you change the channel you will be recording the new channel.
You need to set your recorder to record the correct AV channel and manually set up the recording.
Just plug the ariel into a recording device then plug that into the TV.
ive got a question, i bought a cheap freeview box from aldi or lidl and it works fine with my indoor ariel, but there isn't that many channels, if i bought a more expensive freeview box would i get more channels ?
