Cant play youtube vids

Mrs RATTERs pc is simply refusing to play any youtube clips on youtube itself, it starts to load then it hangs, however she can play the same youtube clips that are on here as links, a bit strange but im sure there is a very simple answer. help please.

She is running winxp home.
