hi can any one help. my shower has started to run cold, even tho its fed by the combi boiler, all my rads heat up as normal with heating on, kitchen taps hot and cold work fine and hot water to bath and basin upstairs is fine too, shower is a mixer on wall bristan make, fed by combi in kitchen feroli domi compact, boiler is 2 year old and serviced shower heats up runs hot then gos ice cold , this happend 2 year ago and plumber said it was limescale in shower blocking the pipes etc so we had a new shower exactly the same make bristan it looks like a silver bar on wall on of at one end ad temp switch on other end riser rail and showwer head argh its driving me mad
Can you get a good steady hot flow from a hot tap without the 'gradually running cold' problem with the shower?
(This is beginning to sound like a shower thermostatic unit problem)

Hiya
Have you found a temp control on the boiler for the hot water?
Many have them. Run it high for the winter.
Have you a thermostatic device on the shower control? It will be a temp lever around the front of the main valve. Does it allow control of the temperature as normal .. or has it changed?
If it IS thermostatic .. there is a canister inside that can fail.
What shower make/ model/ rating in Kw?
hi boiler is feroli domi compact and has been set to eco it enables hot water in system as soon as tap turns on, or u can turn of eco in summer and have comfort ie water only no heating, its been ok up till this week, when for no apparent reason shower started to go cold, if u run shower for approx ten mins it gets hot again, and so on, shower is bristan no idea what lake etc as only words bristan visible
shower has a nob to turn with a button that if u press in and turn u can take temp high to 55 degress were temp before the press of button isusually at 30 to 35 degress ,

ooh just had a look on website im sure its the one on a large picture utility showers, and im pretty sure i filled out a guarantee thingy , ill have a look tomorrow for it,
I also have a ferroli, that does instant hot water - so my shower is basically a giant mixer tap...it does not have a thermostat, just a lever where you choose how much hot/cold.
Maybe the temp of the water coming from the boiler is hotter than the Bristan's stat, and the shower unit is trying to block it and going a bit wrong?
cant find the guarantee, if the tehrmostas bust can it be fixed or could i buy a thermostaic shower from argos and just fix it to the same fittings etc they all seem to be the same distance apart
its just the basic straight chrome bar with a temp dial on the right and the on of dial on left with small grey button on temp dial to depress to go over the high temperature there was a pic on the bristan web site but mine has no model no any were on it just bristan in small lettters, were do i prise it apart to look at the inside workings is it when it gets unscrewed form the pipework that stick out on the wall were the hot and cold fill in
,
can i replace my shower with another shower bar as long as the distance between pipes is the same 150 ml as this bristan is proving to be a bugger to get the cartridge out, bristan as a co are useless money grabbers
