I have the gas fire on in the living room, but the central heating boiler has ignored the call for heat. Fortunately we have hot water. It is exactly a week since the service engineer came to fix the same problem, and all he did was replace the thermostat thingy on the wall. Grrr, The engineer will come today sometime up to 6pm. Tried to book online but it was busy. MrAsk has hung on the telephone for 30 odd minutes waiting to get through. Everything goes on the blink, just because it's snowing.

I live in an old draughty farmhouse, with no central heating.which is bad enough. This morning there is no hot water, the calor gas in the bathroom has run out( we are waiting for delivery). The phone isnt working, and we have a power cut. \Brrrrrrrrrr

I hate to think what it would be like if there was 6' snowdrifts.

Just had a phone call, engineer will come within the next 20 minutes.
I've been without heating and hot water when the water pipe burst before and its a nightmare but luckily for me I don't live far from my parents. Back in January however, I did an online grocery shop and it couldn't be delivered due to the snow. I had very little food in the house and I had to wait 3 days before they could attempt to re-deliver.
hello gran, hope you get it sorted soon x

We've got our heating back on after a few fits and starts. The boiler is only 2 years old and I didn't expect it to go wrong so suddenly. I wouldn't care British Gas rang to say that we could have our annual boiler check in August to save us the worry in December. HAH!
