Jeremy Vine is on the radio talking to people about electric blankets. Just wondered how many people actually use them and love them. Personally, I hate getting into a warm bed and never have trouble getting warmed up. I also don't like a warm bedroom. Trivial question really!!

My friends use them and so when I say at their house, I have one too. Their house is utterly freezing so I will say that I appreciate it if I'm sleeping in the bed alone! I don't know if I would get one but I do like the idea of getting in to an already warm bed sometimes... I do have a history of forgetting to turn them off though and waking up convinced there's a fire so maybe not a good investment for me!

My Mum used to always be kind and put an electric blanket on the bed when I went to stay and the bed was warm when I got in. I hated it. She really couldn't understand why.

I don't use a hot water bottle either and never wear pyjamas and bedsocks. I just warm up quickly!! Hot stuff!!!
We never have our heating on in our bedroom either and always leave our window open a bit whatever the weather, although mrs incred sometimes moans when i come home after a nightshift with feet like blocks of ice!

Never had an electric blanket either, we do have an extra fleecey type throw we sometimes use but like you we like to warm up the bed ourselves.......Ooer!
Always have bedroom window open whatever the weather. No electric blanket or hot water bottle not even pj's. I soon warm up. Oh and no heating in bedroom either.
"... and never have trouble getting warmed up".

Reported for innuendo, lol x

I agree, hate a hot bed & bedroom. As you rightly say, it's easy to get warm.

Yep, even if alone Naz!! Mindyou having cold feet put on you does tend to stop you warming up!!
another hardy type here too. no heating in bedrooms, window always open, no electric blanket, no jimjams or nightie, even considered buying a 'chillow' at one point but heard bad reports about them so didn't bother. my only concession to really cold weather is my cherry stone hotty, 3 minutes in the microwave, perfick. it gets thrown out as i put the light out after having a half hour read.
even the thought of an electric blanket makes me feel claustraphobic. same with socks. bought a pair of thick woolly cranberry coloured tights last week to go with a sort of tunic thing but even trying them on was enough - anyone want a pair unworn woolly tights??
Question Author
I hate tights, hate, hate, hate tights. I have succumbed to socks (not in bed!!) in recent weeks, but never will wear tights ever again!! I have never liked tights. I do wear a nighshirt thingies in bed (long T shirts type - cotton only) This applies to summer as well. I like my shoulders covered!!
Love to get into a warm bed .Softy am I . Pluse got two duvet and a Mr dustypus to keep me warm. :-)
Sorry that a Mrs Dusty
I wouldn't dream of having one. Last night I insisted on having the bedroom window open since the temp had risen a few degrees. We have no heating on in the bedroom and only a light duvet. Mind you, with 4 cats in the house the bed is normally quite warm when you get in it.

I actually like a cool bed with a cool pillow (I will turn my pillow over several times in the night to get a cool bit and stick my feet out of the bed to keep cool!)
^^^ She's a nightmare ... I never slept a wink with all her squirming about.
Question Author
Nothing like a cold pillow and a cold bed when you can't sleep. I sometimes go and get in the spare bed for that reason!!

Are you two really an item? ^ I didn't realise.
