Does anyone know if you sign up for an o2 tariff, and top up say £5, can I still then go on and use the £5 for calls, texts etc?

if that makes any sense, or do you get charged for it like a bolt on?

Thanks :)

sorry that makes no sense at all.....what o2 tariff?
Question Author
any o2 tariff, i meant say simplicity, when you top up £5, do they take the £5 away or do you still get to use that for calls etc
if the tariff has a charge of £5 a month then no, because they take your £5 to pay for the tariff, which I assume was for cheap/free calls and texts anyway
why would they take the £5 away?
to pay for the tariff, or bolt-on as O2 call it
I use O2 text and web pay as you go tariff, as long as you top up by £10 a month, your texts and web are free!.........
I use the free evening and weekend calls to O2 and landlines but can't remember what it;s called, plus I have the favouirite place, so I can call any landline free from within a mile and a half radius of my postcode. I just need to top up 10 a month, and i can use that 10 for calls,. but that's not the same as a bolt on which is a seperate charge
okay what are you bolting on? I have a PAYG tariff for my texts and calls and an internet bolt on. I have to make sure that my balance at the time that they take the monthly bolt on charge has enough there to cover it. Before and after the day when they take the charge, I can let it run down as low as i like. Does that help?
Question Author
ok thanks :)

But can i still use the £5 when the tariff is up and running?
provided that on the day the payment is taken for the bolt on, the money is there. payment is taken in advance of use so you have to have the money there at the beginning of the payment month not the end.
which tariff?
Question Author
i have the o2 numbers bolt on where you pay £5 a month already, and i was wondering if they take another £5 if i have a tariff on too
Question Author
and yeah i realise the money has to be there :)
not very clear here!.........but yes, think you just use up you £5 whether it be calls or texts etc, then you need to top up again!............maybe I'm missing something here!.....seems straighforward to me!.............
I have the oen where as long as you top up 10 a month you can ring any O2 or landline free, and i get to use the £10. what does the £5 O2 one get you?
Question Author
1000 texts/calls to o2 numbers. But i wanted one with some internet usage/texts to any numbers. plus still have £5 for the next month of the o2 numbers bolt on.
not sure dotty, but I think to get any of the benefits, you have to top up by £10 a month, and then choose the deal that best suits your needs.........
Question Author
and dotty, that's what i was wondering :)
