sky red dot in corner of tv

i know the red dot on sky is there for interactive purposes but is there anyway you can turn it off so it NEVER comes on, it gets on my nerves!
using back up button to turn it off 1 minute later there it is again grrrr!
any ideas

i always have to press back-up annoyingly. i dont think there is any other way about it...

Per AVForum in 2007

"To remove the Red Dot completely go to Services > Picture Settings > On screen Icon Timeout. Switch this to on, & then save new settings.

The red dot will then vanish from the screen after about 30 secs. When the programme comes back on after a commercial break, the red dot will reappear , however then go again after 30 secs."

Just tried it on my Sky box but will have to wait and see if it worked!

As a last resort if nothing else works is to put a tiny sticker over the red dot blocking it out.
