Zafira Problem
We purchased a Y reg Zafira automatic from a reputable dealer in October. We discovered a problem with the dashboard lights. They keep going out and also the rear numberplate light, though we can still read the clock and the mileage. My husband has used numerous fuses and the lights would stay on for a while and then go out again. We suspected the problem was with the radio,as previous owner had obviuosly changed it and not plugged it in properly. We ended up changing the radio completely and problem ended for a month. Now the lights keep going out again. We have been back to the car sales supermarket where we purchased the car a few times, but their mechanics don't know what to do.We have been to our local Vauxhall dealer and they haven't heard of such a problem.
If anyone else has had a Zafira automatic, and has experienced a problem

The fuses are blowing, you change them, they continue blowing?
I suspect a short-cicuit. Where = anybody's guess. I'l look, firstly, where any wires go through holes in anything metal ... the bulkhead, etc. See if there's any obvious rubbing/wear on the wiring loom.

We've done all we can to the radio wiring and the problem still exists with the dashboard lights. We will have to take the car to our local Vauxhall dealer and if the problem is covered by warranty we will send the bill to Evans Halshaw from whom we purchased the car. However we have a suspicion they must have known about the problem when they sold us the car.It had a new MOT done by them. The dashboard lights went out the first time we used them after driving for only 10 mins.We wonder if the previous owner had a problem. It will not pass another MOT as the number plate light is also affected. We wonder, if the problem isn't covered by warranty if we could get compensation from E.H. for the inconvenience and hassle we've had
