Can anyone help please. The dog sat on my Panasonic Digital Cordless phone and now it's completely blank. He did switch it off completely but I got it back on and now the light is on but nothing else. No time or date, all my stored numbers gone - everything. I've got the Operating Instructions but can't see anything on this problem. Does anyone know a way of getting all my data back?

I'm not speaking to him:-(
LMAO
Didn't leave the SIM card up there did you ?

If the data was stored on the SIM card it should be readable from another handset.
If it was in a seperate plug-in memory card, that also should be readable from another handset.
If it was in handset memory then you may be able to get it off using a data cable or bluetooth, but I suspect you need to find out how to get the handset going first. You say it is on ? That's confusing. Maybe you need to take it to a shop and see what they can salvage.

Another example of why back-ups of data are vital.
I'm sorry to laugh but this is really funny and has cheered me up, sorry you are having problems though...I don't suppose it say's in troubleshooting in manual,

Dog sat on phone, now not working = dog flatulence can erase phone memory card, buy dog bed and re type in numbers
The Batteries might be low so it's worth checking whether they need recharging or replacing !

Thanks for all your comments but I'm none the wiser. Sim card - I thought they were just for mobiles. And I only have one phone so can't copy. The phone is fully charged and when I press the green button to make a call the screen lights up but is blank where usually the number I am calling will display. To test it was working I just tried calling myself as I now don't know any other numbers - except 999. I was engaged by the way.
i would contact the technical help for the company on line tell them the model number and all that maybe they can help
What buttons are there on the Phone ladybirder ? Is there a 'Mute' button or 'Reset' Button or any other you can re-activate the Phone with ?
Question Author
Redman I can't see any of the buttons you mention. I can't even re-enter the time and date or any numbers into phonebook because whichever button I press the display screen stays blank. It's like typing at a computer but nothing appears on the screen. I have emailed Panasonic for help. Glad I've given people a laugh anyway. And thanks for suggestions.
it almost sounds like the dogs weight of the phone has depressed the LCD screen enough to damage it or disconnect it from the rest of the phones workings. Which sounds like a death sentence for the phone to be honest
There's a new version to that old song ladybirder !

This old man, he played one,
He played knick-knack on my thumb.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a PHONE,
This old man came rolling home.
lol

Why goes Mark as Best Answer come up on every post?
if you cant see anything but the light, check the phone line is plugged in.
How long ago did this happen & how long was he sitting on it? I spilt water on my phone & everything disappeared...gradually over a ouple of days it all came back.
(I wondered if the heat from your dog had made it damp). Just leave it on charge & see what happens.

sorry but I had to laugh at "can't see anything on this problem"...I was imagining 'Dog sat on phone' as an option in the troubleshooting list :o)

tamborine - the phone works - I've just lost all the display and stored phone numbers.

Robinia I dropped my mobile in a bucket of water once and it worked fine when it dried out.

Regarding today's drama, I shall put my phone back in its cradle and hope for the best. Maybe it'll be OK when it's had a rest.
I have a Panasonic cordless phone and according to the instructions you can turn the power off the handset, which makes the screen go blank, by pressing and holding the key you use to finish a call for two seconds. To turn the power/display back on you press the same key for one second. The key is the one that's a picture of a handset with a line through it.

Of course your model may be different to mine but try it anyway.
Typical bloke. I didn't read your question fully. I stopped reading when you said the screen was blank, Sorry.
Take the batteries out and re insert them. Worth a try.
