Magnetic Exercise bike not tensioning anymore

Hi, we have a cintura sports exercise bike that works with magnets and a computer controlled panel where you can choose the tension or route so that it gets harder or easier to cycle. No matter what the programme is set at, it now maintains the same "easy" tension and wont increase it. Because of this it is pretty useless. Do I just have to sling the whole thing, or does anyone know of it is possible to fix it? Thanks :o)

have you checked the batteries?
magnetic exercise bikes need a power source, battery or plug in to the mains to operate the tension and comp read out

Hi Deggers - that was my first thought too. It operates from a power supply which seems to be okaty as the control panel does allow you to adjust the programme etc but that is not feeding through to the magnet bit. Must be some kind of electrical error I think - cant screw the panels off to check if all the connections are complete inside. Guess it will be worth forcing them off to check.

lol - i prefer to get outside if i can, but at least with the settings, you could pretend that you were going up and down hills and look forward to a bit of a rest going down!
