Are there gnats about?

just noticed after lots of scratching, that i have about 6 large itchy, sore gnat bites!
i've only been shopping! lol You got any?

This time of year more likely to be fleas.

no, no pets, only fish in a pond! fleas? haha. maybe, havent cleaned the house for a couple of days

I think its a bit early in the year, on a warmish day you may get a few but it has been cold lately, the golf course is a hive of gnats and I have not seen any significant amounts in the last week.

There are lots of gnats about even though it is cold. Was working in the garden late afternoon a couple of days ago and they were swarming.

lol yes, I saw a group of them in the garden yesterday and wondered how they survived the winter, they are a hardy bunch, I have been spared a lot of them at golf up to now, by summer I will be shielding my face from them :o

blimey, thats suprised me. thought it was way too early for the little blighters to arrive.
so, i dread them coming to tormenting me --they bite me to pieces

They do me too pusskin!! I had a miserable time last year - covered in them from about March!! I looked as if I had chicken pox. Apparently they bite everybody just the same but some get reactions more than others!!

I am a reactor too, I get lumps like saucers on my legs

fishpond? maybe thats the answer! i have popped out quick to feed the birds , not done anything else in the garden though.
so --maybe gnat lavae then? didnt think of that

pusskin, the only thing i have found that helps is an antihistamine tablet..any one you can take will work.

Yep, and Eurax HC cream helps a lot - Hydrocortisone and something to stop the itching.

Its probably just one gnat that was doing all the damage. He thought you tasted nice!!

i'm normally not too bad with bites, but 3 yrs ago?, i had tons of them all over me through going for a stroll in lovely verwood area. they bit me to pieces and had to have lots of different stuff from chemist + antihistamines
