Which is the better place of environmental disposal for tissues.....-Down the toilet -or in the blue wheelie bin?

in the bin - not all tissue dissolves in the loo and you could end up with a blockage.

Compost is the best solution.

As mxyz says- nothing but human waste and toilet paper should be flushed. Anything else eg kitchen roll paper, all sorts of "wipes" etc have the potential to cause blockages - even those that say "can be flushed".

I agree with what's been said above.

However, I don't remember the sewers being blocked up when it was common practice to use cut up newspapers for toilet paper more years ago than I like to remember.

Newspaper seems to break down quite quickly in water......could this be the reason?

Tissues break down in water,it just takes a little longer than most toilet tissue.
