help can anyone out there deduce the main differences between v h i health plus extra and one plan policies withh this company premiums differ by a substantial amount

Generally with health insurance, you get what you pay for - I haven't look at this one, but some plans start at say day 1 of your illness, others have a 30-day waiting period - and some will cover sickness only, others may cover redundancy and sickness, or have different excesses. The more expensive one should be more comprehensive.
