Several leading charities (serving the needs of the elderly, the disabled and those with ongoing medical conditions) link from their websites to this specialist broker:

I've posted that link here many times, with several people reporting back that they'd then found satisfactory cover through that broker. For the price of a (local rate) phone call, I reckon that it's well worth a try!

I'm 63 and my travelling companion, who has a few existing conditions is 74, we use more than.............
I have one linked with my bank account - I've also had a critical illness (fully recovered) which I've declared and it makes no difference to the cover.
Those companies for older people such as Saga etc are usually very expensive. I would just try regular companies such as Flexicover, More Than etc. You can exclude your pre-existing medical conditions if they are something that you are unlikely to keel over with. Various companies have different ideas as to what pre-existing conditions are. For example Flexicover isn`t worried about you being on high blood pressure drugs but other companies might be. You just need to go online and fill out different companies` medical screening questions and see what they come up with.
You could try the Post Office. They have won travel awards for their travel insurance for the last 5 years I think it is. You wouldn't be able to buy over the counter, but if you ring up they would be able to quote you.

Hi, we use Endsleigh travel insurance when we go to Europe and find them reasonable. We both have pre-existing conditions and for this year it was under £34 for both of us which I didn't think was bad. The first time I booked with them I wasn't sure if they covered me for certain things, but when I phoned up the advisor told me as long as I can answer the questions they ask then I would be covered. He said he could even do it on the phone if I didn't want to book on-line but he would have to charge an extra £5 if I did it this way. I have put the link below incase you want to look.
