My husband has managed to lose his keys 400 miles away from home. At present he is being relayed back via Honda Assist who say their policy will not pay for this. I have a card protection policy who say they will pay for the keys to be replaced but nothing else. Any ideas if home or car insurance might give cover?

Oh no, how awful for him. I can't think that any of your insurances will cover it and he might have been better off calling a 24 hr car locksmith and paying the fee. How much do you think its going to cost to relay him home?

Thanks maidup, with hindsight it would have been better to courier the spare keys down to him (I'd never have ben able to find my way there). He just said it was going to cost a fortune, someone has told me they can charge £2 a mile for this!! Silly old fool!! Just want him home safe.
Very much dought any insurance will pay for the journey, then he will have to get back there again to bring the car home.
Too late now but the AA or RAC would have got him home and brought the car back or got new keys.
Cheapest way would have been for him to book into a B&B while you sent the spare keys by Royal Mail special delivery , they do a garanteed delivery by midday next day for around £6 or garanteed for 9am for around £20.
Eddie, I think the car is being relayed home at a cost.
Just wrap them up well and post them. He'll get them next day usually,
Ok nothing to do now but pay up.
