Car Phone Warehouse Warranty Policy
My Son took out a contract for a Nokia Windows Mobile phone at car phone warehouse. After two months of using the phone it stopped working, and was looping between the Nokia and windows sign, and would not log on. After taking this expensive phone back to the outlet it was sent for investigation and repair. A month later it returned to the outlet and he was informed it was beyond economical repair - no water damage - but damage to the BCU, whatever that is. They stated that the likelihood was that the charger could have been engaged too forcefully causing the damage and that they would not repair same. We were met by negativity from the staff who dismissed all of our arguments and would not provide a number for the area manager or the complaints department, stating " WE DON'T GIVE THOSE DETAILS OUT ". I phoned the technical department and asked for an explanation to be met with the same obtuse attitude. They stated that they were the complaints dept. and there was nothing we could do. They stated it could not be repaired. They also suggested that we should have taken out an insurance policy with the phone. I had the phone fixed costing £100, but can get no redress from this company. Does anyone know the legislation on these situations? Bad experience all round. Surely after two months these items must be classed as faulty goods.
