I am sure you have read I cancelled my insurance blah blah - but when I was up in the Currys shop - I know you like things matching ie new kitchen etc like me.

Any way (when I get around to it) with having snow white doors etc and snow white counters (hopefully granite with a little sparkle) on the counters - I had thought about silver appliances but know fingerprints are a nuisance on them. Now I looked at the black appliances and they seem to fit the "bill". Do you think black would be a nuisance too. Thanks for your answer.

I don't find fingers prints to be a problem tbh. My toaster and microwave are shiny stainless steal. The only difference with my cleaning regime is that I dry them after I've wiped them down..

My cooker/dishwasher/deep fat fryer are some sort of coated (much like white goods, but silver) and they clean up as normally as if they were white.

The only appliance I have in my kitchen is the kettle. It matches my cooker and dishwasher (and light switches/plug sockets) because it's brushed steel so looks the same colour.

I have a black slate floor. Even if a tiny bit of dandruff fell out of your hair it would show up. I would avoid black like the plague.
Although I do think black looks nice. If it's gloss it will show up every single mark.
ummmm, I'd be fine in your kitchen, Dandruffs never been a problem with me x
my sister has a silver fridge and it shows every hint of a fingerprint; you have to wipe it down all the time. But with smaller things like toasters it's easier to keep your fingers clear. Black things should show marks less, though benches and floors will show anything white. (Can you maybe dye your dandruff?) We went with a sparkly star galaxy worktop and that was fine.

And you can have appliances of any colour with it.

thanks ummm for your answer - it is early days for me re this kitchen - as I have to finish off the mortgage in Aug but would love it done - particularly I am doing well (TOUCH WOOD) with the vertigo when I become so sick - couldn't stick workmen in my house.

btw Ummmm - a tip given to me many years ago - when I was working a girl told me her brother worked in a kitchen with silver appliances and they had to clean them with "oil" (I guess for silver)
Lol Elvis...you can come into my kitchen any time you want x

Ummmm - if I do decide on the black - realised you have given me a tip re the switches too - would like them to be black - that would lift the boring white.
Ta Ra.
I wouldn't do that. Oil goes sticky.

Anything 'high gloss' will show finger prints
It's not brushed steel I have (doh) It's brushed chrome.

Sorry x

It's still silver but doesn't have the high gloss effect....making it easier to clean.
I love black, I have a monochrome bedroom and bathroom, but I think black kitchen appliances look gross.
ummmm I'd probably leave sticky prints so best not lol
Really, Elvis?? What will be making your hands sticky???

Well Craft I certainly have plenty of time to make up my mind - money wise.

Innocent question, craft....honest honestly :-)
A couple on "Mr and Mrs" tonight said fingerprints on their Black appliances was the one thing they argued about all the time.

me too triggs......................but only in jewellery.
My kitchen is black and white with red. Anything glossy will show fingerprints, so maybe brushed effect would be better.
