My dad has dropped his phone in the river whilst fishing.......oooops!!
Its completely gone.....however he does have phone insurance with his bank. I think the company used is AVIVA.
What is the process of claiming.....does he need to contact his phone provider to let them know aswell? As my understanding is that the phone in question gets blocked (not sure though) and the insurance company arranges for a new replacement phone which gets set up as before....does he get a new number?
Also, on a separate issue......it states you need proof of purchase/ownership of the phone, when claiming, however I heard someone say recently that they didn't need to provide this when claiming online......is this true?
The best place to find all this out is at the insurer surely? So far as proof of ownership goes, if he was on a pay monthly contract, would that prove ownership?
