Supermarket Update .

I'm posting this here but it arose from complaints about parking at ASDA and the Co-op .
I have found ASDA and the Co-OP have some other failings in common.
1.They have the noisiest background music and shop announcements. Our local Co-OP is so noisy I travel 3 miles to Sainsburys to get some peaceful shopping.
2.Asda and the Co-op are the least efficient when it comes to price changes. When you get home you find they have charged the full price on a reduced item. The reduced price for two is actually more than two single items. Sometimes the reduced price is higher than the original price.
I check the bill carefully at home now and have taken packets back and received refunds but that's not the point, it shouldn't happen.
3. I had a home delivery from ASDA which was 3 hours late , part of the order was missing and there was no paperwork. I complained but it was not rectified and I never got the paperwork.
I've never had these problems from Sainsburys , Tesco or Waitrose .
We have 8 supermarkets in my area so you can guess where I don't go.
I accept that mistakes happen everywhere but when it's the same sort of mistake week after week then it's down to mismanagement at all levels.

They don't seem to have any control of the amount of stock that they get in, so I am always able to buy stuff like smoked salmon on its sell-by date for peanuts.
But the Co-op radio blares out far too loud. The staff agree and the Manager as well but he says that he can't turn it down too much, otherwise he will get into trouble.
Not sure why we need music while we shop, loud or not...its just blo0dy irritating !

In our local Asda, the PA system has been on the blink for over a week now. Joy!! The staff miss it, saying their time on duty passes quicker when it's working.
As for the Co-op, it's run by amateurs, their pricing policy is all over the place, and many of the store staff are quite simply numpties. e.g. "Do you have any fresh garlic?". "No, we just have the bulbs!". Now, they're about to launch a new slogan for their own brand products. It's to be "Loved by us". It sounds like these are items loved by the Co-op themselves, but how about a slogan for what their customers would like instead? It's daft, and it looks like they're about to shoot themselves in the foot! At least Asda have "Chosen by you", i.e. the customer...

B00 it is the case, the staff in my local are so bad it's a standing joke in the village that we'll always know where to find our idiot, 'covering a shift in the co-op'. It's basically run like a corner shop with less friendliness. The prices are ridiculous, you can't get a loaf under 95p. Mind you bread has become so expensive everywhere I guess, but the 95p is the co-op's own cardboard loaf, a decent loaf is nearly £1.50 in there.
i have asda/sains & m&s all on my route to work, i vary between asda and sains depending on what im buying, i tend to find sains it more expensive but the meat quality is better, however asda seem to be making changes esp the fish counter, i had some nice tuna steaks off their this weekend on offer. Can't say i have problems with pricing and i do check.
i have the heavy stuff delivered by tescos once a month and again never any problems there
All the supermarkets have massive car parks, so no problem there, only at xmas when the whole world decends, or so it feel like but i simply avoid or shop at silly oclock
M&s is for when i decide i need a treat :-)
