Hi, we're going to part exchange one of our cars for a smaller one so that our son can use it for learning to drive, but with car insurance being so expensive for 17-year olds, I'm not sure what to get. I heard somewhere that a Vauxhall Corsa is only a class 2 or something for insurance (don't know whether that's right or not). Does anyone know what the best car would be in order to keep insurance to a minimum? Thanks.

Thanks ianess too, but which one should I believe about which class the Corsa falls into? Anyway, now that I have a few lists I can check with the dealers.

The Corsa is available in many versions from simple runabout (Group 1) to supermini (Group 11). You need to be specific about the model to get an accurate insurance grouping - Corsa

Thanks again kempie, we know who the motoring expert is on AB now! That's great, very useful information before I go shopping and get the wrong one! Cheers.
