Yes foolishly i did not protect my nc

All you can do is to make enquiries to Insurance Companies giving them details of the circumstances and the cost of your claim.

I would get in touch with a good Insurance broker who would likely get you the best deal in the circumstances. This will save you a good bit of your time,rather than conducting your own search of the market.

Look at your policy. Most companies will knock off one or two years NCD.
