Saga springs to mind and I believe the Help the Aged website has suggestions for OAPs with health issues.
Saga are worth getting a quote from, at least. They were a lot happier (and cheaper) with my minor health problem than a previous insurer had been.

Thanks will try all.
I looked at Saga, but they wanted to know my name, address, phone number, email, etc, etc before letting me do anything by way of getting a quote. I refuse to use websites that do this. I know that often enough companies that do this are fishing for information they can then sell on to marketeers. Admiral car insurance used to do this, for example.
Try 'goodtogoinsurance.com'. I have a number of old medical conditions that I declare, and they have the lowest cost for long haul I've been able to find this year.
staysure have been ok with me
My parents both near 80 used staysure and they saved quite a bit the last time they traveled abroad. They both got quite a few pre-existing.
Try EHIC Plus, they should at least give you an option, possibly the best price and the terms may suit you, all depending on circumstances.
A specialist broker that's worth a try:

(That firm is recommended on the websites of several leading charities).
I used the Post Office for years for my father and was always very satisfied.
I used to use Flexicover for my mum and latterly, Avanti. The health screening questions are the same with all companies and it is up to you if you want to include or exclude your medical condition/s.
My wife has various ailments including type 1 diabetes. This company always give reasonably priced cover whether for European, US or long haul to Australia holidays.

She's going to Lanzarote in two weeks time and has paid £47.02 for one weeks cover. We haven't found a cheaper company that cover all her ailments yet.
I should have added she's 69.
Sorry got the name wrong on the company my parents used. It was All Clear not Staysure. I have put the link below just in case you want to look. They had used others before but found these a lot cheaper and I am talking £100s as they both have many pre-existing.

True - but you can opt out by ticking and unticking appropriate boxes - which works a lot better than it used to
