Car Insurance Claim

My car is due to be repaired this Thursday re an accident in April when someone went into the back of my car causing damage to the left back bumper and light. He eventually admitted liability hence the repair on Thursday. My son has reversed into the other side of the bumper this morning causing damage to the right light and bumper - what will happen ? He is insured but I don't want to have to wait another four months for repairs.

Another car rolled into mine in a supermarket car park (handbrake failure). Only one side of the back of my car was damaged including lights but when I got it back the whole bumper was repainted. The car was getting on a bit then & I only really wanted the lights fixed as the bumper was just cosmetic so that did surprise me that the whole bumper was done.

Why not explain to the guys at the repair shop exactly what has happened?
They will possibly do you a deal whereby you pay for the repair to the recent damage and they will send a bill for the already agreed amount for the original repair to the insurance company. Thus probably no need for your son to claim on his insurance.

say nowt they'll replace the bumper anyway. They rarely repair plastic bumpers as they are diffucult to get spot on.Much cheaper and easier to get a new bumper and spray it the right colour. You may have to buy the right hand light if it's broken.

I'd take it for repair and say nothing and see what happens.
