Cracked Mobile Phone Screen
11 Answers
I am gutted! I have just accidentally dropped my new mobile phone (had it two months!) face down in the street, it just slipped out of my hand and the screen is cracked (not shattered). Its a Samsung Ace 3 white, its still usable as the cracks are only fortunately round the outside of the screen so I can still swipe the main part. Will the glass eventually fall out?
I have found a replacement screen online for just over £10, are they easy to fit yourself or do phone shops repair them? I'm with Orange/EE and got a cheap deal of £12.99 month with new phone.
Any advice would be welcome please.

Personally, I would go for a professional repair with a guarantee, rather than buy a screen for about £10 and have the difficulty of replacing the item; which may Not function perfectly after a DIY job.
If you have Household Insurance it might cover such accidental damage. Check it out.
However,If you are courageous, there are lots of videos on YouTube which show how to replace a screen on your mobile phone. :-

I am completely ignorant as regards radiation levels from electronic equipment. However, I do hold a view that folk get over bothered about items such as mobile phones causing a health hazard when there is a far greater amount of radiation in the atmosphere which we cannot control. Personally,I would continue using a mobile with a cracked screen until I could afford to buy a new one; which in your case would cost about £130.
