Rear Seat Belt Warning Buzzer

The warning buzzer has been going off intermittently in our Mazda 6, whether or not the seats are occupied. Googling suggested a broken wire in a seat belt stalk.

Decided to connect up the centre rear seat belt (the one that has to be disconnected when folding down the rear seats) and hey presto the problem seems to be resolved! Do you think this is pure coincidence or is there some connectivity between the three rear seat belts that has somehow led to the problem going away?

The car I have has a similar problem, the wiring loom for the rear lights are affix to the boot hinge, as you can imagine the boot lid is opened very often, the wires in the loom are very thin & this in time causes the wirers to split causing a short, This I found out after returning to Man A/Port after a trip abroad, I picked up my car at 1.30am at Jet 2 Parks to find out the battery flat, I was lucky as another person was just leaving the park & IK asked him if he would Jump Start my car, Job sorted the following day, the car, BMW E36.
