I used Direct Line and never had any problems even though we made a couple of quite large claims.

My hound is with Tesco pet insurance - The policy I have covers life long illness/ condition treatment on top of the £7.5k vets fees, plus it has liability cover should someone try and claim against your dog for an accident. The monthly payments do not dramatically go up each year, so as the dog ages, the premium stays fairly low all the way through.
