Renewal received to day: £297 fully com with full no claims bonus, for a 06 plate Citroen Xsara Picasso.
Thought I'd save us a few bob and go Thirds party etc as the car is getting on a bit and was quoted £295 - a whole £2 cheaper!!!!
In the words of Victor Meldrew - Unbelievable!!!!!

I pay over £400 for a 1.7 03 plate that is worth sod all, garaged and max no claims bonus.
Just found out that a squash friend who is not even a British citizen - three years no claims - pays £800 for a 3Ltr 2014 Jag. And he is 16 years younger!
You're probably better off sticking with fully comp.

It's not uncommon for '3rd party' cover to cost considerably more than 'fully comp' (with the same company) for the same vehicle. That's because of the 'actuarial risk factors' that show that people who use just '3rd party' cover are statistically more likely to be involved in an accident than those with 'fully comp' policies. (I've got 'fully comp' cover, on a vehicle that only cost me £350, for that very reason; it's a lot cheaper than '3rd party' cover!).
no, very believable. Many people forget that most of your premium is not to cover your own car. That is why we often hear the irrelevant tome "but the cars only worth tuppance halfpenny" - The expensive part of the cover is for third party damage. Ie your £100 runaround can kill a brain surgeon or write off 250gt California. That's why there is very little difference for low value cars.
