Should you notify your motor insurance company if you become deaf ?

o god I thought this was driving when you are dead ...

my hearing is not bad but my sight is not that good and no I dont drive ....

and no you dont need to tell the insurance co you are deaf if you are
I don't think so bob, my father was profoundly deaf, and I don't think he did, but should you become deaf, I think it would be wise to mention it especially if you are renewing with the same company, as it would be a "change" in your health status.

You are obliged to notify the DVLA of any medical condition which is likely to have a bearing on your ability to drive. The DVLA website gives details of 'NOTIFIABLE DISABILITIES. Click DVLA DISABILITY DRIVING for more detail. Local GPs are familiar with these situations so you may ask for his views. Any failure to inform the DVLA would null the insurance. If you were to seek advice from the insurance company, they simply say IF THE DVLA DON'T WANT TO KNOW, NEITHER DO WE.. First approach is the GP and hope his reply is advantageous. My comments are from anothers personal experience on this subject
