The police have nothing to do with damage only accidents , it is a matter for the insurance only. You would only hear from the police if you had committed an offence like careless driving.

He will just be coming out to confirm that the damages you have claimed for have actually happened.......and to put their own figures on them.

I had a domestic claim last year and the loss adjuster came and had a look and awarded us far more than I had anticipated. :o)

Don't fret, providing you have been honest, everything will be fine.

But i have,nt made any claim? the other party has.
That'll be their loss adjuster then. You have nothing to worry about. The loss adjuster will be looking to make sure the claimants story and damage match up.

oh he told us he was from my insurance, and i got a letter as well from my insurnace to say he will visiting me, how wiered. thank you for making that clear to me. i was getting worried. its been 5months and i have nt heard from the police is that normal
You're making this confusing by starting two threads. If he's claiming 60k then it is likely to be from your insurers.
Question Author
sorry dont know how to delete a thread.
You can't. Only the editor can do that.

This question alone makes it look like you've had a minor accident and a loss adjuster is coming out to inspect the damage.

So what happened? You ploughed into someones wall?
Question Author
No it was.nt like that, another car was over taking me and nearly hit me so to avoid them i tried to move toward left and that when my car hit the fence, to me it did nt look iike 60k worth but i guess in now adays world youwould claim for a new roof too.
You must have hit more than a fence to cause 60k worth of damage.

Don't worry though. The loss adjuster will not be judging you. For such a high claim they'll need a verbal statement taken to try and prove the other side are taking the pee. It's their job...
Just let your insurance company deal with it. It's up to them to decide whether they think the claim for £60000 is reasonable. I'm not sure what they want to see- probably whether your car has any damage that would be consistent with the claimed damage to property. You will need to declare the accident when your renewal is due although it seems your insurers already knows. A fence would not be worth £60000 so there must be more to this.

well my car was abut 15years old so it was,nt worth any thing, i bought it ten years ago for about 1000pounds so i got nothing from insurance at all it was worth repairing. they said my access was more then the repairs worth.
but i know i did,nt cause 60k worth of damage, should I sign any documents he gives me will he record my conversation I have been told by friends that they do, and i might have to pay 60k......thats why i am worried
I think you should ignore your friends. Ware you correctly insured?
Question Author
ummmm your very helpfull and knowledgable i must let your manager know
Question Author
yes i have full comprehensive insurance. and no claims bonous
Okay- I wasn't really asking about Fully Comp- i'm just wondering whether everything was fully declared about modifications to car, your employment etc, But just have your meeting - it should be straightforward- but don't rush to sign something - ask for time to read over it.
Question Author
there is no modification done to the car, and what about my employment i dont understand ..... i have a normal office job
Question Author
ummmm..
I have,nt heard from the police its been so many months
will i hear something when will they contact me,
Ignore me- if we ask for more info it seems to worry you more so I'll leave you in peace. Let us know how you get on
If you had a driving job you didn't tell them about. Something like that..

I'm not knowledgeable. Just dealt with a few claims (not me!)
