Change Of Address Going To Be A Problem?

I've recently moved to a new address but haven't changed addreses with anyone yet including car insurance. My car has just been hit by another car whilst being parked at the new car park. I've tracked the guy and he admitted it and given all his details. When I tell my insurance I've changed addresses and I want to claim off his insurance, it won't be a problem as I'm not claiming off my policy. Is this right?

The same thing happened to me. I just rang my insurers and told them about the bump and that I'd recently moved. It wasn't a problem.

Can't see it would be a problem. Under the circumstances you describe, it'd be no different if the collision had occurred elsewhere. But you should tell your insurer asap about your change of address (which could mean a higher premium - or a reduction (yeah right)) and also about the incident).
But would it not be a problem if the address change incurs an increase in premium?
And don't overlook the fact that your driving licence and car registration documents need amending too.

Even if the address change does increase my premium, is nothing to do with accident because I'm claiming off his insurance

Yes I have a whole list of address changes to do but haven't done them yet due to the circumstances of the move.

Yes you MUST tell your insurers even if the other driver is paying 100% of the claim. Just tell them you have just moved at the same time, it will not be a problem.
