i took out insurance with hastings 2 months ago, at the time i only had 2 yrs NCD . this was for a new car . my old car i allready sold but let the policy run for a further month untill i got 2 yrs NCD.

now i emailed hastings to tell them i had now 3 yrs NCD and not 2 yrs, they increased my payments !!!! what the .................

this is what they sent me " Dear *******,

Thanks for your further email.

The acceptance criteria for no claims bonus is set by the insurer, and is not acceptable because it was not available at inception.

If you would like to discuss cancelling the existing policy and setting up a new one based on the no claims bonus now being available, please call our customer service team who will be able to discuss your options.""""

I think they are saying that at the time you took out the policy you had 2 full years NCD (2years 11 months). They say that if you want to claim 3 years NCD you need to cancel the existing policy and start a new one.
However I am not sure why they have now put up the premium. Maybe even the 2 year NCD is now felt not to have been proved/be acceptable for some reasonHave you rung the customer service team for an explanation and to see if they can help?
Your premium for the year is based on the facts as they stand at the start of the policy. How much have they increased the premium by? I find that very odd - the contract you accepted at the time you took the policy should stand.

Do as they suggest and call the customer service team.
Diesel, I search & Search for prices, the Company you mention was one of the dearest.
Seems pretty reasonable to me.
