That's a bit unusual?....from the little I know, I thought that children were encouraged to "try using out" transitioning without hormone use and any hormone treatment that was given was aimed at delaying puberty to give the child more time to decide rather than actually starting the transition.

I agree it's too soon but am unaware of how things work in other countries.

I do wonder if 12 is really too young to be making those sort of decisions. Heck at 16 one has to start thinking about a career path and many cant decide on that.

It's good that the procedure for re-transition is (in his case, at least) relatively easy to reverse, as his treatment hadn't been running too long. I think he's shown a good deal of courage on both occasions & can only wish him well in the future.

It's a complicated issue and I have no doubt that there are some genuine cases.

But when you are unhappy with your life it is often easy to say that things will be better if I was thinner, taller, more intelligent etc - I get the feeling that its a case of the grass being greener for the other gender. All the hype in the press, I feel, hasn't helped the situation.

Twelve is much too young to make any serious decisions.

This is definitely not a unique case.

My nephew aged 6 goes to school with boy twins. However one twin comes of a morning as a boy and the other little boy comes in with a dress, his hair in pigtails etc. Woweee

I think it was grossly irresponsible to go ahead with treatment. He's only just reaching puberty.
