I opened a junior isa for my son.Now he has turned 18, Hargreaves Landsowne want ID proof of valid passport (he only has expired one- which they won't accept)or driving licence. He has neither.
Its unlikely he will use either , but i suppose the only option is he will have to renew his passport as it will be easier(but more expensive) to get a renewed passport ?

You will have trouble getting either a passport or driving licence at the moment.
Does he have an ID card? Its only £15 and he can use it for proof of age when he's out and about. Ask if they ll accept that instead.

CitizenCards are accepted by most pubs, bars, shops selling booze and ciggies, together with bookmakers, etc, as well as by the police and by SIA holders (such as nightclub bouncers). They're also accepted as proof of identity when applying for a driving licence, so it might be worth asking if the firm will also accept one as proof of ID:
