Just A Little Sad
My sister who comes over to me every Sunday for over 50 years - I saw a difference in her today. Don't know how to put it.
First of all she is extremely proud and sometimes unnecessarily. Anyway I had to type a letter for my nephew and she couldn't read it - won't wear glasses and now receiving macular degeneration injections.
Walking very frail - we had to deliver the letter to nephew about an hour ago and she couldn't get out of the car and cross the road - I had to get out in spite of 3 broken toes and bring her - on the way out nephew helped her back into my car.
I am worried about all this as where she lives it is all male neighbours whom she doesn't really know or bother with. She has to negotiate 10 steps going down to the house and when she goes to bed negotiates about 15 steps to bedroom.
I am at loggerheads with myself as I'm not too well myself and therefore unable to give her the help I'd like.
I just say - where's it all going to end. Will she have go somewhere else, she would go insane. Just said my bit. Thanks for listening.

I honestly don't know how she gets her pension through the week - goes to Sainsburys sometimes a Thursday or a Friday - she does have brilliant taxi men but even at that - I just don't know any more.
She's got to her age and doesn't wear glasses at all? That's incredible in itself - how on earth does the manage?
what about you and your nephew together simply saying to her that you're worried about her, and if she acts all surprised and hasnt a clue what you are worried about then ask your nephew to be a bit firmer and explain why.
