last min holiday cancellation

My parents are due to travel to the canary isles today but are unable to travel due to flu our some kind of virus. I would Like some advice can thay claim on there travel insurance.

make sure they go to the doctor asap,today if poss,or get a home visit,as long as its registered, try and inform travel company,who also will log it,notify the insurance company,who will send a claim form,take it to doctor who will fill it out saying they were unfit to travel on the date concerned,then hope for the best,you know what insurance companies are like.

Be aware that the doctor will probably charge them for the insurance company's certificate.

As long as the doctor says they were unfit to travel I can't see the insurance company trying to wriggle out of it.

They may be able to claim on THEIR travel insurance.
