What's going on at Google? When searching for a product eg Pension the first page is all Government info. This applies to other financial products eg loans returns 'student loans' any ideas or are they after payment for 'sponsored links'

Google is supposed to rank websites in accordance with the number of hits, so one can only presume that more people are searching for info on State Pensions, Student Loans etc, than for commercial pensions and loans - which to me doesn't seem too unlikely. However, at the top, and in the right-hand margin, of the Google "pensions" and "loans" pages, there are numerous sponsored links of commercial finance institutions etc.
