its a good idea in theory to arrange a pot of money , sourced /financed by 500 fines , given to uninsured drivers , and then this money good be used to assist finacially wise insured drivers "who have to claim of thier own insurance " even if it they was not to blame, this can also effect, the legal drivers no claims bonus, as it is classified as "at fault" , even though they were not actually to blame --------- if a person has third party fire/theft insurance, and they are "hit in the rear" ,by someone who turns out to be "uninsured " , then the third party f & t , insurance would not even be obliged to assist the legal drivers, as the onus is on the (insured t p f & t) , to recover his own costs , (one big difference btwn fully comp and third party f & t insurance)..... lots of motorists also do not attempt to call the police immiediately at time of accident, this can make tracing the driver very difficult at later on when going through a claim procedure, ........ its not always possible to get the police out instantly either, when you do contact them the first question is they ask over the phone, is anyone injured if you say no, they do not prioritise this as a call out ......just exchange particulars , put it this way , more than a few white lies can be told, if the police are not present , when exchanging particulars....... i once gave particulars of accident to the police , they got lost, and i had to past all details again to the traffic division , more than a month after the accident....thats something else that can happen , reports of accident paperwork gets lost !!!! , also when uninsured drivers are convicted, they oftenly dont pay the fine up in full ,straight away, they opt for installments, remember fines are retained by the government, ........continued......
