underpin or drain repair

hi we are close to exchange on a property,but it needs some drain work which has caused subsidence.will this involve underpining or will the repair cure it? also will we be able yo get insurance? thanks jeff

If you have not yet exchanged contracts then the property does not belong to you. No insurer will pay you for a fault that existed before you bought the property.
You will need a surveyor to assess whether the house needs underpinning or not
