ive had one of three bedrooms recently changed into a bathroom. how many bedrooms should i state for insurance quotes?

you need to tell them it is now 2 beds.

Industry standard always used to be the original specification of the house - so if for example you'd had a loft conversion done, or an extension built creating an extra fourth bedroom, the policy would be based on three. I would suggest that you just make any potential insurer aware though - just to be on the safe side!
