Do I need insurance?

I have just started taking lessons and i want my parents to take me out to practice in their car but they wont because they say i need insurance, what is the law on that kind of thing?

You have to be insured to drive a car in a public place including the highway.
Unless of course it's with a proper driving school - all that is included and you don't have to worry until you drive your own, or another, car.
you didn't honestly think you would be able to drive around in your parents car without insurance did you? the absolute minimum legal cover you need is third party.
you need to be added to your parents insurance policy as a named driver, which can be expensive.
Yes, you do need insurance. If you are out on the road and havean accident then your in serious trouble... your licence would go before you got it. Driving with no insurance is a big deal!! It may be cheaper to just get extra lessons
