Car value over 4000
I Just wanted to know that if a veichle is valued over 4000 does it have to be fully comprehensive insurance?
Because my miss's insured our car as 3 party fire and theft without my knowledge even though its on HP and unfortunatly went into the back of someone who was parked illegal and the police wont do anything about it causing my car to have 3500 damage and theres nothing i can do about because the insurance firm says that we were only 3rd party fire and theft.
But surley they should have asked the question "Is the car on HP" before she could take any insurance out?

It is not the sellers responsibility to make sure you are adequately insured.
Neither is it the insurance companys responsibility to check the status of the car.
Although most finance companies will insist you have comprehensive insurance, you cannot shift your liability to them if they do not.
That just leaves, er... your wife, Im afraid, who must accept full responsibility for this situation.
