car stolen from outside front door.

My car was stolen on Sunday night. The thief opened my front door took my keys then my car without me hearing a thing. I would like to know if my insurance company can refuse to payout because the thief was able to open my door from the outside without a key? My door was closed and secure but not locked with a key as I was sitting in my living room watching TV.
