My son, after an accident, has been on statutory sick pay of about 70 per week for the past 3 weeks. He has just been told by the hospital that it will be a minimum of a further 6 weeks before he will be able to return to work. He has monthly direct debits for council tax-mortgage-insurance-water-gas-electricity etc. equating to 60 per week . As a single man are there any benefits he may qualify for to enable him to continue to eat until he is fit again?
