Insurance for Listed Buildings
Can anyone recommend an insurance company that covers Listed Buildings?
Last year I had a lot of difficulty arranging insurance for our house as it is a listed building. This was the first time that I had done this since my father died and, considering the problems I encountered, I suspect that he may have been less than economical with the truth over the years with regard to the listed status.
Now, I realise that this is totally counter-productive as you are not covered if you lie about things like this, and was honest with all the companies I contacted. However, I only succeeded in gaining cover when the call centre staff made a ***-up and the company had to offer the insurance to me as their phone tape showed that I had actually told them all they needed to know. Obviously this is not going to be allowed this year.
The cover runs out towards the end of January and I want to be prepared instead of rushed at the time. Our house is in Cornwall and made of granite and slate roofed. Not in a known flood zone and is approx 250 years old.
Thanks in advance.
